The 2010 New Year's Day Orston Soap Box Derby got underway in bright sunshine but cold and frosty conditions. There were 13 Competitors from far and wide and an excellent crowd of 200+ gathered to watch. The Soap Boxes were a sight to behold representing many hours ofeffort by all the contestants. All had three "runs" down Hill Road and were timed.
The final winners were:- Fastest single run - Stigette in 23.87 secs Fastest combined runs - John Johnson in 75.96 secs Best Designed Soap Box - "SAD 1" Sam Ibbotson Fittest Pit Babe - Jasmine Wilkinson Best Crash - Patrick Newton
All entrants had paid £20 to enter and the proceeds were donated to the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance Service.
A Bacon Baps and Coffee stall was available to help swell the funds ably managed by Heather.
