Distraction Burglary - Chapel Garth
Many of you will be aware that two despicable characters tricked their way into a property in Chapel Garth last week and got away with several items. The victim, with police help, has put together a photofit likeness of one of the criminals and this is shown on the right here. If anyone thinks they recognise this character then please contact the police at the number above or Sally Charles our Beat Officer on 07595 074150..
Some of you may have met Sally before now as she runs monthly Beat Surgeries in the village at The Limehaus. She also turns up for a chat at the Chapel Coffee Mornings when work permits.

February 2010 - Care, recently a local woman was stopped in a car and approached by a man pretending to be a policeman. Fortunately she quickly ascertained that wasn’t the case and drove off.
However it turns out this wasn’t the only time this man had attempted this and the Notts Police have now issued an Identikit and notice concerning him. This may be downloaded

Keep yourself safe from SCAMS

Frequently members of Neighbourhood Watch contact the Police requesting information about what they believe are Scams designed to defraud people. There are literally hundreds of such Scams both Internet and Telephone based and all, if you fall victim, will take your money.

It is recommended you take a look at the following bona fide web site that gives details of many such scams. The web site is free and regularly up dated and is well worth a visit. Scams are broken down into various sections and are easily navigated.

The web site is
http://www.safefromscams.co.uk and visiting the site prior to contacting the police to report a suspected Scam is often worthwhile.

Police & Village Priorities - Following completion of questionaires the main issue was agreed to be Speeding Vehicles through the village.
The police have followed this up and the following extract from their website is apposite.
